Early this year, the Americans in Paris-blogosphere began rumbling about a Chipotle coming to town. I was blasé about the idea since I’d only been to a Chipotle once and wasn’t really wowed or even meh-ed by the place.
If you don’t know, Chipotle is the “Mexican” chain owned and operated by McDonald’s. Their big claim is that they only use fresh ingredients and you can watch them prepare your food in front of you.
I finally went, several weeks after the grand opening, and my estimation of the place didn’t change any. What did make the trip worthwhile was watching a French guy trying to eat hard tacos with a knife and fork.
